This professional couple, with three robust teenage boys, purchased a premiere point lot on a private lake in western Indiana 10 years ago with aspirations of building their dream home.  After numerous attempts to develop architectural plans, the clients hired the design team to analyze and improve upon the existing hand-drafted blueprints for their large scale home design.  The Designers finalized the plans and created detailed AutoCAD drawings including floorplans and furniture space plans, electrical and lighting plans, plumbing plans, flooring plans, kitchen and bath design plans, interior and exterior finish specifications and schedules of materials and were highly involved in the construction process. The final design plan by our team called for the entire second story to incorporate private offices, a conference room, an out-door balcony and kitchenette for their thriving real estate company, and an exercise suite and guest quarters.  A luxurious master suite, large laundry room with multiple laundry stations, three-car garage, powder bathroom, grand stair case and two-story foyer, family room, dining room, kitchen, screened porch and wrap-around deck comprised the main floor.  The Designers also created the lower level to house the three teenagers, all in separate bedrooms and bathrooms, and included a recreation room, billiard room, eat-at kitchenette, built-in aquarium, all mechanical systems, and a screened walk-out access to the lake and boat dock.  Drawing off the client’s love of lake living as inspiration, the Designers crafted a visual aesthetic infusing coastal New England motifs with Arts & Crafts design elements and principles.  These influences are evident in the use of details and materials, and an exterior color palette that directly translates into the interior finishes of the home.  Design features include a custom eight-foot Andean walnut front entry system, local Indiana limestone dry-stack chimney breast and entry wall feature, wide-plank hickory flooring, custom knotty alder kitchen cabinetry with integrated appliances by Fisher & Paykel and Viking and gorgeous Golden Ice granite countertops. The Designers also specified Arts & Crafts two-panel solid core doors, satin nickel door hardware, American Standard stain-nickel plumbing fixtures, appropriately placed lighting fixtures and dimming controls, custom designed architectural millwork throughout the home, whole-home audio/visual and phone system and a soothing interior color palette which all synchronize seamlessly.  Through good design, the clients have realized their vision for a custom home that reflects their lifestyle and beauty of their surroundings.
