These wonderfully charming, professional clients came to our firm with a very common interior design dilemma: they had gone to a local furniture store and purchased an initial collection of furnishings, then became concerned about integrating these materials into their new custom home. They were also conflicted about harmonizing transitional furniture with the Tudor style home, which features a Mediterranean kitchen. The designers were asked to source additional materials, finalize the interior design plan and tie all spaces together in a cohesive manner. We field measured all rooms, took an inventory of the pre-purchased furniture and textiles then began brainstorming and professional space planning. To compliment and enliven the spaces, the designers created additional custom upholstery and casegoods, specified one-of-a-kind hand-finished lighting fixtures, custom drapery treatments, custom and antique area rugs, commissioned artwork, developed an inviting color palette and hand-selected accessories from across the globe. The designer's overall approach had to include respecting the traditional architectural roots of the home, while embracing the client’s transitional design aesthetic for their living room. To achieve the overall design flow, we simply leveraged color - in all materials - to marry all rooms as one. The clients now enjoy public spaces that flow seamlessly and elegantly from the grand foyer to their private offices.
